Let me decribe it.
Every day, I go to a classroom (a different classroom each day) and spend 9-noon doing general french with my class. I really really like it and I feel like im learning a lot. It's really cool because everyone in the class is from another country so I am able to speak with kids from Korea, Denmark, Africa, Japan, and Italy through our common language of French. It definately keeps me from speaking English!
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I also have electives- Oral on Tuesday and Writing on Thursday. These go from 2-5 so needless to say, my Tuesdays and Thursdays are long days. I was especially disappointed on Tuesday because my professor had informed us that our electives were Wednesday and Thursday, but then not only did have learn on Tuesday that I had to go to another three hours of class, but I also missed our programs visit to the Opera Garnier. NOT HAPPY. Oh well, I will have to get there on my own.
My oral class was interesting. It has a lot to do with figuring out your accent, so our teacher was giving us french tongue twisters that we had to say alone in front of the class until you got it right. Some people, thankfully not me, nearly had breakdowns and/or tears over "Suis-je chez ce cher Serge" when asked to make it rhythmic.
Today, I start my writing class, which I am actually looking forward to because I like to write. Yay! I will have to let you all know how it goes, sometime in the near future. I will also have to tell about my adventures in Luxembourg gardens, under the Eiffel Tower, at the Arab institute of the World, at Notre Dame, and of course, the Ballet I went to last night!
