The mountains all have names, signal hill, Lion's Head, Table Mountain and behind our beautiful Guesthouse, The 12 Apostles. The owner of the Bay Atlantic, Bernie took us to see firing of The Noon Gun. This is a Cape Town tradition which has been observed since 1919. A cannon is fired at noon every day and the Capetonians observe 2 minutes of silence in remembrance and thanks to those who served in wartime
We watched USA vs Algeria in a pub with a bunch of other Americans! Camps Bay was crawling with Brits and Portugese. We went to the V&A Waterfront where we found throngs of soccer fans, activities and the Fifa Store! Marcus was called to a stage to play his vuvuzela! See the video! Finally we went to a german beer hall in cape town with hundreds of other germans to watch the 3rd game. We had tickets to this game but chose to see Cape Town rather than travel more to Johannesburg for the game.
