Where I stayed
Knysna Belle, Leisure Isle
After a day of outdoor exploration, we arrived at The Knysna Belle. What a jewel of a bed and Breakfast! Marcus and I were in the captains quarters and the boys in 2 rooms downstairs. The second night we had the whole place to ourselves! The ladies even came in early to make breakfast so we could the boys could eat before the bungee jump! There are no drive thrus in South Africa!
Today we set off on our drive along the coast toward Cape Town. This area is called The Garden Route. With the Indian Ocean on our left side and the Tsitsikama Mountain Range on our right we made our way south to presumably colder temperatures. Our first stop was at Storms River Bridge, a craggy gorge cut into the rock- I am sure there was a river down ther somewhere. Next, an 800 year old Yellowwood Tree and then HIKE to one of the 8 river estuaries in this area to walk across a suspension bridge which spans the mouth of the river. As we made our way back to the car guessing what body parts would hurt tomorrow, we saw a pod of whales spouting in the distance. Driving on towards Rad & Grif's wanna go spot, the World's Highest Bungee Jump, we saw BABOONS on the highway!!! Crazy! So- the jump was booked for the day so we scheduled for Monday. On to our lovely accomodations in Knysna. The drive is georgeous- breathtaking! Pics can't do justice but try to imagine!
