Dolce vita?!

Italy was only a idea 10 months ago, and up till a week ago the plan was solid.... the plan. Now it's real....that plan. The language, the sites, the red tape, the flight, the saying good-bye to family, it's all here now.
My Mom claims denile, we're not gone 'till the plane's wheels depart from the cold tarmac two weeks from today, not until we say goodbye, luggage and inhibition in hand. I'm not leaving with a carry-on and two checked pieces of luggage. There is baggage galore. Will everyone be okay? Will we be okay? Mom says she worries, I can't possibly express my own worry....it's better to be the strong one when your the leaving one.
Italy is this great place, swamped with history, culture and passion.
I am hoping Italy is the epitome........ of "living the life."
