So we crammed a lot in three days so this entry is going to be a long one! Sorry!!! haha

Eric got into London Thursday morning and we left super early Friday morning for Paris. I am so glad we took the train instead of a bus, which was loads cheaper, but an 8-hour drive instead of 2 hours. We arrived in Paris around 8:30 in the morning and found our way to our hostel. Paris is a lot more confusing than London, especially with the language barrier. And the metro is nassstyyyyyy compared to London's underground.

The first thing we did was go to Notre Dame. We walked around and went inside. We decided to go up Notre Dame, which was such a good idea. We had to wait in line for about an hour and a half but it was totally worth it! Also, there was some weird dude with a creepy mask walking in front of the line freaking people out by coming up right behind them, holding their hand and just invading their space haha it was really entertaining for us all in line! Once we finally got to make our way up the 400 steps to the towers it was amazing! We got to see all the gargoyles up close and it was such an amazing view of the city. We actually got to go to the tippy top, which I wasn’t expecting, I thought we were only going up to the section between the two towers so that was really cool.

After we made our way down, we explored the Cite Island and then crossed over to Ile St. Louis, which is this cute little island behind the main island. It was a classy little residential area with super nice apartments and really good ice cream! We grabbed some lunch and ate along the river looking over Notre Dame :)

After lunch, we went and toured the Conciergerie, which is a prison where Marie Antoinette was held until she was killed. They had a recreation of her cell with mannequins and period furniture setting the scene. Her cell was loads bigger than any of the others but still gloomy! After we finished wandering around the old prison, we made our way to Napoleons Tomb. They had some hi-tech car show thing going on so we just took a few pictures and headed towards the Eiffel Tower. We relaxed in the park below the Eiffel Tower before we decided to head back to the hostel since we were both beat from the day and not getting that much sleep the night before.

We went to bed early but my stupid little phone I have here in Europe didn’t understand time change so we got up an hour later than we planned. I wanted to get to Versailles by the time it opened at 9 since it gets super crowded from 10-1. We didn’t even get on the train to Versailles until 9:50 so that was kinda annoying. Versailles is a lot closer than I thought; it was only half an hour train ride from Paris. When we arrived there the line was ridiculous! Well over a thousand people in line. We waited in it for a few minutes before we realized it wasn’t for tickets but to get into the chateau. What a relief! Haha so we went and got our tickets, which only took about 20 minutes and then headed to the spectacular gardens. I absolutely LOVE Versailles! It was my favorite place we visited. The gardens are amazing and they are HUGE!! They go on forever and ever it seems like! Since its peak season there, they have water shows with the fountains. I loved all the flowers haha :) It was nice to get out of the city for a bit.

We made our way down the Royal Drive and to the Grand Trianon and toured that and the Petit Trianon. We got to see Marie Antoinette’s theater. It was sooo cool seeing all these places. My favorite of course was the Hamlet. That was the one place I couldn’t not wait to see! It is so cute there, I just loved it. We could have hung out around the Hamlet all-day and wandered around.

We really lucked out with a great day it was pretty warm. Plus we walked miles!!! By then it was 3 and we made our way back to the chateau to see that. Good thing was left that to the last thing to see because the line was nonexistent compared to the morning! It took us less than ten minutes to get in. Also, it wasn’t as crammed in there. It was nice to walk our own pace through there and see everything. By the end of everything, it was 5 and we were beat! We had to have walked over five miles haha in the heat! It was so fun though; I could spend forever at Versailles :)

Once we got back to Paris we were both super beat and it was still hot out haha so we got some food at the base of the Eiffel Tower and hung out. Then we took a boat ride down the Seine which was nice and relaxing, almost put me to sleep haha We were trying to kill time before we went up the Eiffel Tower. I thought the lines would die down a little but nope! They were long as ever! We decided to walk up to the second level because it is cheaper and the line was wayyyy shorter than the others. Well that was freaking exhausting! Over 700 steps! Haha the views were awesome though :) We waited in line for the tickets to the top for over half an hour but the line was barely moving and after that line we were going to have to get in another for the elevators. Since I have already been to the top I was fine not going again and Eric really didn’t care. We at least went up half of it! Haha so instead we watched the sun set from the Eiffel Tower and then walked down to the park and watched the light show. The Eiffel Tower looks really awesome all lit up and then when the light show goes off! It was a little twinkle tower haha

After the light show ended a little after 11 we headed back to the hostel. Paris is sketchyyyy at night! I have never felt unsafe in London period but Paris is something completely different! Like even during the day there’s tons of people sticking things in your face pretending to be deaf and following you around, begging for money or trying to sell you things every block. It’s really annoying. Plus the whole city smells like pee! You would think they would try to keep the place a little cleaner. Paris made me love London that much more, that’s for sure! London doesn’t smell like pee, people don’t harass you all the time for money and it’s easy to understand! Haha

On Sunday, our last day in Paris before we headed back to London that night, we went to the Louvre to see the pyramids. It was sooooo hot that day! High eighties! We were both dying and on top of the heat it was all humid. Not fun. We hung out at the Louvre for a bit but didn’t go in since the line was outrageous and really we didn’t have enough time to actually look around the largest museum in the world! We headed to the Orsay Museum next, I really wanted to go in there but the line was really long too. So we went and got some food at an actual restaurant (spendy) and then headed to the Arc de Triomphe. We took a few pictures there and then headed back to the Louvre where the fountains were to cool off. When we got back there, everyone had their feet in the water so we did the same. It felt sooo good in the heat! Haha we hung out there for about an hour (and got burnt of course) and head back to the hostel to get our stuff and head to the train station. Paris was a lot of fun, I loved seeing all the sights and it was nice to get away from London for a few days. But we were SO excited to get back to London haha too bad its still super hot here too! If I ever go back to Paris, it will for sure be during off-season when its not crammed full of people and prices are so high! I think the city would be pretty in the winter :) Of course I took over 500 pictures in 3 days so bare with me haha
