Penquins- Dolphins- Seals-
Milford Sound was a great trip- Being extremely hungover after someones birthday party and night of dancing I left the Magic Bus crew and hooked with an "Eco-tour" group to see the amazing scenery of Milford Sound- well worth the 13 hour day of buses and boats!
We saw a pod of dolphins and followed them for a while- there was a baby dolphin which kept the others from staying under water too long- some penguins bopping along and under the water and some more seals maxin and relaxin.
I sat with the captain of the boat for most the trip and learned as much as possible about the fisheries and tourism industry down there- he was great and introduced me to a film on New Zealand -a nature flick that his buddy filmed from his helicopter- its awesome! I would love to share it with everyone! They actually built a theater in town just for the viewing of this film- AND- you can not buy it or see anywhere else in the world! (well except since I bought it and will bring it back to the U.S.)
So after a long day of driving through the gorgeous mountains and sailing on the sound checking out the wildlife and scenery- we had a big meal together in the local pub and headed back to Queenstown. I stayed in Q-town one last night- said goodbye to all the people I had met on the Magic Bus and went home to nurse this cold I have!! Ever since I stopped taking my malaria medicine, which was an antibiotic, I have been fighting a cold! Should be better soon!
