Now I think that after travelling for so long I have become a little too on the chilled side as I managed to almost miss my flight to Hong Kong and ended up doing a very theatrical sprint to the boarding gate (the furthest one away of course) and arriving on the plane very red faced and exhausted (i really should try some exercise!!)

My arrival in Hong Kong was pretty hectic, and pretty much got off the plane, dumped my bags and got straight to the stadium for the Hong Kong sevens! What followed was a crazy weekend of drinking (jugs of Pimms on a sunny afternoon, you cant beat it!) cheering on the Brits and of course booing the Aussies and French, all in the infamous South Stand, which is adults only, always packed and very very messy!!!

After recovering from the weekend I went to meet Andy and Kelly, who i'd met and Vietnam and endulged in some more drinking with some friends of theirs that are over for a wedding (with a week long stag do by the look of it!!) We did managed to get up early yesterday though (well lunchtime is early for me nowadays) and head over the Lantau island to see the biggest sitting buddha in the world - and yes it was very big!! I joke but it was very impressive! Spooky cable car into the clouds!

The best part of the day though was the crazy cable car ride up the hill! We must have been on it for about 15 minutes and it was incredibly steep and rather spooky as once we got high up we just disappeared into the clouds and couldnt even see the next cable car in front of us!!

Oh and talking of clouds, after a gorgeous weekend, its actually turned cold out here!! I'd forgotten what it felt like!! It was a little of a shock stepping out in my flip flops to a crazy thunderstorm!! I have now resigned myself to the fact that its only gonna get colder (unless Russia decides to have a freak tropical type spring!) and today I am off to buy some warm stuff and morn the last of almost 9 months of sunshine and flip flops!!!

Having a few beers inbetween races!

Am getting the train into China with Andy and Kelly this afternoon which should be interesting! I have no idea what to expect of the country but suspect it may be a little crazy - just reading some of the guidance when in restaurants for example is fasciniating (e.g. after finishing your meal, you must not stick your chopsticks into the rice, as this signifies death and will offend everyone..... etc. etc.) So not only will I have to attempt to use those funny sticks without pinging all my food around the room, ill also have to be careful about where to place them too?? Its likely to be messy in all senses of the word!!

Anyway, must go now as i have my shopping to do!!

Much love xx

P.S. Lack of pictures here as my beloved camera is broke ;) So on the hunt for a new lens this arvo - well at least in in the right place for it!!
