Well, I'm back. Two weeks of adventure, learning the route that I'll be leading through Morocco, two weeks of good food, amazing places, fun people, long drives, crowded trains, stomach bugs, squat toilets (maybe I shouldn't have mentioned those last few...). And next week I'll do it all again, this time for real, as a leader and not a trainee.

It's hard to know where to start, because this trip has taken me from labyrinthine medinas with donkey handlers shouting "balaak!" at hapless tourists  in Fes to the stately Roman ruins surrounded by olive groves at Volubilis to small towns in the High Atlas where I've been surrounded by small children asking for pens and candy to Midelt where I've been invited to join Berber dancers to the Sahara where I slept frozen under two blankets with an amazing view of the stars. How can I possibly describe any of these places in one single entry? How could I possibly describe them all? I may, as I go through my photos, post entries about each individual place where I've been. Since I'm going back to all of them, and will continue to go back to all of them all year, where and when I've been to each one will become immaterial. It's the fact that I go there that is important, and the fact that I will continue to deepen my knowledge of each place the more I go.
