While Stefan went to work (he's a police officer), Melanie and I spent the day in Coburg, a nice, little town about 15 minutes from Stefan's house.  We walked all over town as she showed me where Stefan works and where she has to be for class on Monday.  (She normally attends the University in Bamburg studying to teach English and French, about 30 minutes away, but is taking a 2-week class in Coburg before the fall semester starts in October.)  The town itself is very cute.  The streets and sidewalks are all cobblestone.  As is typical in this area, the roofs of the houses are all various shades of orange and brown with very dramatic slopes.  There are also a lot of trees and other greenery sprinkled throughout the town.

After spending some time in the town center, we walked about 20 minutes uphill to reach a castle overlooking the town.  As with the castle in Würzburg, it had wonderful views of the whole area.  We took a little time to relax and catch our breaths from the walk while enjoying the views.  After descending back through the forest to town, we drove back to Seßlach to cook some lunch/dinner and relax for the evening.
