Made our way up to Exmouth on the 30th, after spending the morning on the beach at Coral Bay. It only took us 2 hours to reach Exmouth from Coral Bay. Once again it is another small town, blisteringly hot-we reackon about 42 degress today. We just about managed to walk to the supermarket without melting and brought some beef burgers for dinner. Then gave up about walking around the town and went and jumped in the pool. We are staying in a backpackers but it is on a hotel resort and we get to use all the facilities like the pool bargain. Also this is the first place since Singapore that me and ALex have been able to have a double bedroom as it didn't cost much more than the dorm. It was brillant there is wireless here so updated all the blog and watched tv, which is something we haven't done since Singapore and even there, most of it was shocking.

On the second in Exmouth we went into Cape Range National Park to go to Turquoise Bay to do a bit of snorkelling. We stopped off at the visitor centre to hire fins as we have been told there is quite a current here. After arriving in turquoise bay it became clear that the fins was a good idea. There was quite a strong wind which resulted in a strong current, we did the drift loop first which is where you swim out and join the current which takes you along. It was hard to enjoy the fish as the current was taking me along at some pace, also was bit worried as we had to head back to shore by a certain point else there was another current which took you back out to sea. Didn't want to be getting involved in that. It was a hard swim to get back into shore for me anyway not for Alex, so didn't give that another go. Went round the corner to the bay and did a bit more snorkelling in there and some sunbathing. I didn't think it was as good as Coral Bay, and unfortunately we didn't get to see any turtles or sharks on our snorkels. In the afternoon we went back to the hostel and funnily enough the 2 girls we shared a room with in Coral Bay had the room next to our so we spent the evening chatting.

Got up really early on the 2nd as we had to drive a mammoth 800km to get to Geraldton as we are making our way down to the  southwest for the final week on the west coast. The hostel is not the nicest and its a good job we are only here for a night. I think this is by far the worse one to date. Went to MacDonalds for tea, oh so healthy, mainly to use the wireless. Which once again did not work stupid netbook as a couple next to us were on there, for reason it just does not want to connect.
Then went to the local pub to watch a boxing match, which was over in 2 minutes so had to stay as we had just paid $13 for a cider and beer and we certainly wasn't going to waste them. Got chatting to a Auzzie guy and a guy who lived here for ages but orginally from New Zealand. Was nice to chat to a couple of locals.
