We're off today. Or so we thought. Our connection in Dulles was delayed by two hours. Not the end of the world but a bummer. This meant a later start in Zurich. Actually having a lay over in Dulles International steals a little of the thunder from traveling outside of the country. I compare it to taking a road trip. You've packed up the car and are ready to hit the road just as soon as you gas up, hit up an ATM, and grab a few more supplies. Oh and don't forget the friend you gotta pick up and of course he needs some money so hello ATM again. These false starts always bugged me. I much prefer a lay over in a foreign country. This way I feel as though my travels have truly started.

Anyway, back to Dulles. This is actually my first encounter with the airport. And it seems as though I was treated to the grand tour thanks to my flight arriving at gate D32 and my connection leaving out of concourse C. No trains to zip you along. No, that would make complete sense. Grab your bag and start huffing it pal. It seemed as though concourse C was running from me as I made way forward through a heard of slow moving women. D31, D28, D26, D23, it's like watching water boil. I tried looking down at the ground while I walked thinking this might speed things up. Surely I've passed at least 5 gates by now I thought. Nope. Only one. Finally gate D1 appears before me. Our connection is at C5. The gate immediately following D1? C28. Like I said, I got the grand tour.
