Ok so lesson learnt, we should have done our homework on this place as on the outside it didn't seem like there was much to do, but found out there was on the last day!!
There was a lovely little beach with the Jetty which seemed to be a popular hangout for 'schoolies!' (they were all jumping off, we did not!!) We braved the sea although i (ash) was jumping every 4seconds thinking there were jellyfish (you'd think like any normal person i would be worried about the sharks, not me!!)
Like any town we've been in , if you have a car you have alot more scope to see alot more things, so we're doing as much as we can by foot! Would definatley go back there as it seemed the place for diving and water sports etc. (However we're holding out for the Reef!!!)
We did get some good memories like 'The fish and chip man 'You will LOVE it' Trevor'. As you can tell from the name that seemed to be his catch phrase (that or we gave it to him!) As everything in his chippy 'we would LOVE!'........fish and chip special 'you will love it!' .........fried battered banana spring rolls 'you will love it!'........battered dog poo 'you will love it!' ok so that wasn't on the menu but im sure if it was......!!! (Also turns out Steve DID love the banana spring rolls!) When we get home be sure to ask for the impression of Trevor the fish and chip man!! :p
We also were priveleged to attend the Christmas Carols by Candlelight. It was great fun, to really start getting Christmassy with all the golden oldies, and the fireworks were one of the best displays we've seen, it rivalled a new years eve one!! Roll on Christmas!! WOOHOO!!
