Well....it's not quite what we expected!

Having gotten off the bus after a 15hr drive, having to find our way around a brand new city with those damned bags on our backs, we probably weren't in the best of moods to judge, however Sydney definately didn't have the initial spark that Melbourne did!

We arrived at our hostel, located smack bang in the middle of the red light district, and it was grim, no thats being kind....it was damn right disgusting! I think the only reason people liked it there is because they were way too drunk to realise where they actually were!! I don't feel its fair to go into too much detail now but if you want to know, just ask!

So we drop our bags and head out to the city, looking for a bite, it was our own fault for taking the wrong turning but it took us 3hrs to find somewhere to eat! (other than a posh expensive cafe or restaurant who probably wouldn't have let us in anyway!)

Not the greatest of starts, feeling fed up we wander around avoiding the hostel for as long as poss until we give in, praying for a better second day!

Day 2

A little better, although there just so happens to be building works going on at, where seems to be the end of our bed!!

We head to the Circular Quay, where the two most famous reasons for visiting Sydney are and that certainly changed our mood!

Sydney Harbour Bridge (although just a metal frame) is certainly something to marvel at. And the Opera House, although not as big as you would think is remarkable in itself.
Needless to say we got plenty of photos marking the event!

(We hope this is the only grumpy entry, we apologise!!)
