We arrived at Melbourne at about 11ish at night. Seemingly gettin through customs etc. very quickly, however we were kept waiting for ages for our bags! (Oh and the Australians are so strict they had sniffer dogs and everything, however the small basset hound really wasn't as menacing as he sounds!!) :) Anyhoo we finally got out the airport onto the skybus, headed for the city (it was lucky that the "City' was the only stop as we suddenly realised we had no clue where to get off!) We then hailed a cab, already watching the pennies as we haggle a price (saving a whole 2dollars). A Tip: Don't trust an indian cab driver, whatever he says, HE DOESN'T KNOW!. We finally get to the hostel around just after midnight.
The hostel is basic, but clean. The owners are lovely and can't do enough for you. Today we headed into the city which is only a handy 20minute walk, we walked everywhere, really gettin to grips with things. The City is amazing, not so much hustle and bustle, there seems to be the right amount of people. We went on a free tour aound the whole City, we got some invaluable info from the tourist centre, (like when the Neighbours trip is!!) We went to Victoria Market this evening, They had live music, fresh food stalls and lots of lovely little stalls, selling lots of lovely little things that we couldn't afford, but it was great to see!!

Tomorrow we hope to go to Melbourne Zoo and the aquarium. No beaches as of yet, but St Kilda is down the road, at sunset there is a penguin colony that congragates at the peir, so we'll keep you posted on that! (YAY! Penguins!)
