After leaving the fun in Krawkow, we visited another concentration camp - Auschwitz. Just
the name gives harrowing and painful thoughts. It was a painful trip, not enjoyable, but something that I felt better after doing. We toured bot the camp, with barracks full of exhibits and the remaints of the railway station and crematoria. The setting was eerie, hallow, perfect for contemplation. If you are in the area, it is something that everyone should take a break from their fun and enjoyment to stop by and see.
The town itself was almost equally sad. Our native guide who lived in the area talked about how the town was now desolate, no one wanted to live in a place where such awful things had happened. However, Oswiecim was not chosen for the site by its inhabitants, only because it was a convienient railway crossing.
