Thursday, May 22, was Corpus Christi, literally "the body of Christ", which celebrates the Eucharist.  Even though I was in Gibraltar most of the day, I was still able to see the processions through town in the morning and in the evening.  Interestingly enough, today Spain, like the rest of Europe is much more secular than one would assume by looking at the Christian history of the city and the lavish monuments and parades.  I did notice that most of the people who were watching the processions were either older Sevillianos (especially women) or tourists with cameras in hand.
