We went to Corumba, left our stuff at our hotel, Hotel Salette, and found a guide to take us into the Amazon's Pantanal region. Our guide's name was Bosco, he and his helper loaded myself, Alon and a Brazilian named Raul onto their jeep, and went to get supplies. This reminded me of the scene in Cannonball Run where two of the racers get cases of beer and a bag of chips as food. We picked up Bosco's girlfriend and off we went.
The first animal we encountered was a small crocodile and a huge anaconda, a promising start to a great week. We went all over, saw many birds, monkeys, alligators, and wildlife. We even fished Piranha for lunch one day. We visited a farm where skins and meat where hung to dry (smelled bad even compared to us), and the views they must see every morning must be amazing.
After several days we took the jeep back to Corumba, said goodbye to Bosco (who asked for my hat ... fat chance), got a hotel, took a welcomed shower and went out with Raul.
Overall: Great experience Wonderful animals Amazing views
