Cruising the Carretera

The Carretera Austral is simply a road, but a beautiful road which you travel through Chile into Argentina. Traveling through the Andes is spectacular, with low mountains and many lakes. You almost feel compelled to stop every fifteen minutes. We slept mostly in tents, bought bread from locals and had a great time.
When it got a bit colder, we happen upon natural hot springs (in sort of a spa), which we took full advantage of.
Since Argentina was very expensive for a bunch of poor muchileros we ventured into Argentina for a day, bringing most of our food with us, and went back in the evening into Chile, to sleep, eat and get supplies.
Overall:
Worth the trip
