We were scheduled to go to the hospital on May 14, 2007 if labor will not start earlier.
It didn't! We went! Yes, our baby will be on of the few who will be born on their actual due date. There were some complications though; the umbilical cord was in a knot, so the doctor had to perform an emergency c-section. Everything went as well as can be expected, both mother and baby are fine and recovering nicely. We filled out all the paperwork at the hospital and waited for the social security number to arrive so we can apply for a passport. Once we did, we were told we had to wait several weeks, until the end of August for the passport to arrive.
Cutting it a bit too close!?! We called Continental, now that we had a name (Jacob). It turned out that the lady who gave us an un-named infant seat should not have done so, and complicated the matters for them. Not that we care, we were guaranteed a seat. We also opened up a frequent flyer account for him, not even a month old and already a traveler. The good folks at Continental worked it all out, and Jacob had his bassinet, at the whopping price of $400 round trip. However all the good work was undone several days later when we received an e-mail notifying us that our return flight has been rescheduled and expedited to 10:00 in the morning. ARGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! There goes the careful planning of night flights.
