Our first stop was at Saint John, New Brunswick.
This is a charming city, located on the Bay of Fundi, with rich history (this is where the American loyalists fled to after the revolutionary war).
Because of the cool water there are many lobsters and other shellfish in the area. We took a tour of the city, which was well worth it. The tour guide took us all over the city, showed us the old, as well as new sections, the fortifications, reversing rapids falls, and ended up at the Old City Market.
One of the most impressive features of the Old City Market is the roof, which looks like an upside down boat. The reason, we were told, is that ship builders built the building, and this is what they knew. As impressive as the architecture is, it is nothing compared to the welcoming attitude of the locals.
From there we continued on our journey, to a day at sea, which we both found very relaxing, my wife would have loved another ... I would have jumped off the boat. However, there are rumors I learned to relax since then. We went to a show in the evening, which was OK (but hey, for us going to a show means Broadway), and the jazz club was very cool. Spent some money in the casino also, a whopping $40 (or six drinks).
