We wanted to go to New York City to look at the tree and window shop on fifth Ave., as is our newly minted holiday tradition.
Alas - man plans and G-d laughs. Not only is the temperature barely well below freezing (when including the wind factor), we are also sick...which is the fault of the kids...because they were sick first.
As punishment we decided to cance the New York City trip...which would have had some sort of moral lesson in it, I'm sure but the kids didn't know anything about it...so no lesson here.
However, we did want to go do something "festive" which is does not involve turning mommy into Frosty and daddy into Jack FrostFairfield Garden Center.
So off we went...in your face Frosty!!!
We arrived at the center and were guided though a store to the "Ice Caverns". The store is beautiful and has loads of Christmas "stuff", from life sized Santas to ornaments.
However, we're poor...or cheap... so even though our hearts were went with Little Timmy, our wallets screamed "Scrooge".
So Scrooge it was.
However, the "Christmas Ice Caverns" were very nice. Great animated displays (there is a $2 entry fee per person) and the kids had a blast.
Santa is also on hand, however when we where there he was on a break, but as we understand he is one of the best Santas in the state.
