Even though we just came back from Disney, our big vacation of the year, we are still aching for some more...that being said there are other issues.

Family, friends, downtime, stability, am I kidding.  If we had the money I'd be writing this from a plane.

We decided to take a day trip and we finalized our destination to two choices: The Statue of Liberty or the American Museum of Natural History.  Even though "we" watched an episode of "Wonder Pets" where the bird, turtle and hamster saved another bird from the top of the statue of liberty, it seemed like a blustery day so we opted for the American Museum of Natural History.

We reminded Isabella about "Night at the Museum", a movie she watched about 100 times, went over behavior ground rules at the train & museum and off we went.

Turned out the subway's B line is under repair and doesn't run on the weekends (care to guess which line goes from Penn Station to the museum?), so we took a taxi which ripped us off ($15 for 2.5 miles) went into the museum which was busy and got tickets (around $50 for all four of us).

We should have known better and brought a stroller, but we didn't.  The museum was very interesting but very little of the displays interested the kids.  They recognized the animals we saw at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney's Animal Kingdom - basically they liked all the animal displays and the sea life displays.  The big attractions, such as the dinosaurs weren't as big a hit as we thought.

We ate hot dogs (almost $15 for four hot-dogs, no drinks since we brought water from home.

Overall a nice day-trip and got the kids out of the house, even though they were a bit young.

According to Isabella (almost 5) what she didn't like about the museum were the dinosaurs.
She did like it when they died...
