South American LA.

Lima is awesome!!!!!! Miraflores, which is probably the nicest area in Lima is beautiful. We have been hanging out here for most of our time, doing some shopping, and eating by the ocean. The parks, plazas, and sqaures are all clean, wonderfully maintained, and show great prosperity. Lima is unlike any city we have been to so far. It is very modern. It reminds me a lot of LA, with its´ palm trees lining the streets, and its´ coastal buildings, not to mention the hoards of surfers crowding the beach. The people here are warm and friendly, and the collectivos (altered minivans used for buses) are cheap and reliable, not to mention fun. Our hostel is amazingly clean, well priced, and in another nice area called San Isidro. It is safe to walk around, and is protected.

It will be sad to leave this lovely city, but it is also exciting, as we have purchased flight tickets for Quito, Ecuador. On friday morning we fly there, spend a few days, and then make our way into Colombia (which we are very excited about, seriously every traveler we have met who was there said it was their favourite country they had been to, and that safety was not an issue...also the results of the new election look good! there were no guerilla incidents for the first time in almost a decade!).

We still may go Paragliding....we aren´t too sure about the company, so we most likely won´t, but we will try and find another company, as paragliding off the cliffs here looks like so much fun.

I love Lima. I would like to come back here and live here for awhile one day.
