Copper Center
This is definately not a drive for one day from Anchorage and back so I was glad I decided to take two days to go there and back.
This drive is definately more Into The Wild and you dont see a soul (car) for long long times.
It al started of with lots of detours in Anchorage due to road constructions and they place one sign that says take a left road ahead is closed and thats it your left on your own. So after touring around for a bit I finally found the right Highway just before almost ending up on the Military Base.
I decided to stop for coffee and some breakfast in Sutton just over an hour from Anchorage, I ate a Breakfast Sandwich with a reindeer sausage, it tasted really good altough Im embarrased to say I ate Rudolph. It is a terrific stop in the middle of nowhere and I was sitting next to 2 gold diggers that were discussing their previous day harvest.
As you can see at the pictures the view is stunning, the glacier I was on breathtaking and the Pipeline the icing on the cake.
The old lodge is so old I dont think I have ever stayed in an older, unrenovated hotel since I can remember each footstep you make can be heard trough the whole hotel it squeeks all over.
Had a decent dinner in the hotle restaurant and now catching up with my blog.
Everything goes well, lots of pictures and heading back to Anchorage first thing tomorrow morning, taking the car back to the rental office at the airport and relaxing the remainder of the day.
See ya.
