Hi All, it did happen I am in Anchorage and had a good flight altough it is still 3 1/2 hours but by looking on the map it doesnt seem that far away.
The inflight entertainment center in the frontseat wasnt working at first but after some hassle and a reset from the initial uncooperating flight attendant it worked again. Air Canada flight attendants are in general older and pretty unfriendly.
The flight was good and coming in we mad an enormous loop over the snow covered mountains and island just in front of the coast of Anchorage and then almost brushed the water for a touchdown on the landing strip.
There is construction on the airport everywhere, the landing strips, the terminals etc. heaps of construction workers like ants crawling over and on new buildings and pavements.
I picked up my rental car and drove to the hotel to freshen up.
