Woke up to beautiful clear blue skies and warm breezes! Actually, got up to about 95 today, but it felt great. I have to say that the more time I spend in this city the more I like it. I went to a little coffee house, and the server asked what kind of coffee I wanted. I replied, not too strong. She said "weak coffee - oh, you want caffee Americano". And it was still too strong for me, had to put lots of sugar in it. Met Eduardo today, who has been dancing or teaching Tango for as long as he can remember. He is 77 now and still teaching, he says Tango keeps him young. Visited the San Telmo neighborhood, full of antique shops, and on Sunday, today, the streets are closed off and artisans are selling their wares. Prices here are great. One US dollar is worth 3 Argentino pesos. I bought 3 bottles of water, and a small bag of oreo's for 4.60 peso, that equates to about $1.60 US. Later in the day, for lunch, I had a slice of pizza, an empanada (like a small calzone) and a bottle of gatorate for the US equivalent of $2.25. I actually had some healthy meals in there too, so don't worry. Clothes and other articles seemed to follow the same pricing... Figure out what you'd pay in the U.S. and cut it in half or even a third. If only I had more space in my suitcase. Sundown about 8pm here, and then it is cooler, and nicer to walk around. A short visit, but I'll be back here in a week or two.
p.s. got to see the Superbowl, in spanish (it started at 9pm here). Too bad about the Seahawks loss
MILES: flying 7037, bus 22, taxi 33, walking 12, total 7104
