Bratislava is very small in comparison to its neighboring capitals Vienna and Budapest. It really isn't all that exciting and I wouldn't bother coming here. In spite of that we did have a nice wander and the weather was a perfect 30 degrees. We walked up to the castle which looks over the city, and found that it didn't look so good up close and the whole thing was being renovated. We decided to splurge a bit and have lunch in one of the touristy areas, but it was very tasty and we didn't have to eat tea that night so I suppose it all worked out. Before we left Bratislava the next day we went for a bit of a sun bake and a swim in the lake. Yes that's right, a swim! The water was nice and clear and cool, and we enjoyed it very much.
Today we were heading for Brno, Czech's second city and capital of the Moravia Region
The camp site we stayed at was in the middle of nowhere on the road to Prague. We chose it basically because it had washing facilities and we really need to do a load. We got excited when they said they had internet, and then disappointed when our computer wouldn't connect! But the clothes got washed and we were treated to a good old thunder storm.
Dave had read about a little town called Kutna Hora which was not far from Prague, so we thought we would stop in on our way. It is a lovely medieval town with a great cathedral and lots of little ally ways and cobble stone streets. One of the main attractions of this town is the Bone chapel, which we thought we would have a little look at
We arrived in Prague and found a camp site just 4kms from town. Everything seems to be good, and we have set up the awning and tarp, hoping the weather will warm up for tomorrow. We are meeting Bel and Amy tomorrow which should a bit of fun.
