9/3/09-12/3/09
So our last overnight bus ride in Argentina, and guess what?  We got a full cama!  It was also the cheapest bus we had gotten.  It was really comfy and we even got wine and a hot meal, score!  We were going to Puerto Iguazu to see the Iguazu falls.  By now you have probably worked out that I am quite fond of waterfalls, so you can imaging I was very excited to be seeing these ones.  The hostel we were staying at was an old casino and had a huge pool and great bar area.  We decided to stay three days so we could do the falls on one day and then hang by the pool for another.

We also had to get a Brazilian visa, the first proper visa we have had to get while travelling.  It was very easy and much better to get it here then in BA.  We went to do it in BA and the lady there told us we needed a bus or plane ticket to get into as well as out of Brazil The hostel

.  We were only going to get the local bus so it was quite impossible for us to give her that.  It was also going to take about 5 days.  The one in Iguazu needed our passport and a picture and it was going to take 3 hrs.

The falls were great, the whole park is a big jungle with the cataracts braking through.  There are several falls that make us the whole water fall area, with the biggest and most spectacular being the devils Throat.  I got goose bumps watching the water cascade over this thing.  There was just so much water that your eyes didn't know what to focus on.  I will try and put the video on to give you some idea.  But even if you're not a waterfall junkie like me, you would have found it amazing.

We got to see a bit of wild life too.  We saw Monkeys, Caiman,  a tortoise, birds and these funny racoon looking things called Coati which tried to steal our lunch.  Unfortunately the island in the middle was closed for maintenance so we couldn't go over there.

We are now in Brazil to see the Brazilian side of the falls.  So far Brazil is great, we can't understand a thing that any one says, but that is not so different from Argentina!  The falls on this side gave the whole overview.  It wasn't as exciting as the Argentinean side, but was still good.  We also visited the bird park, this was great, you were able to walk through the enclosures and stand very close to them.  There were heaps of Toucans too, and I love these, they are the most impressive birds.  Dave got to hold a snake, but unfortunately the camera ran out of battery just before I could take a picture.
