Well, we finally feel a bit rested and are going back to the train station. We are taking the train to Rhienfels castle in St. Goar. We try to find more direct walking route to the train station, but we still probably walked more than twice the real distance. However, we made it and went in to buy our tickets. They have a great deal in the Rhine area. for only $25 you can ride any train, as many trains as you want all day - for 2 people! So, for $12.50 you can go anywhere.

Foolish us, we thought we would go to St. Goar, then cross the river and go see Marksburg. Well, that was way underestimating the amount of time things take. More on that later..

Anyway, we find the correct platform, the correct train and the correct class of service. The train is a double decker with panoramic windows on the top floor, so that is where we head. This is another great way to see the Rhine valley scenery, although a bit faster, well a lot faster, but the cruise is still better. There are only so many hours in a day, so the train is a great alternative. We follow our map and landmarks and get off the train at the right stop, St. Goar. We missed the stop the day before because it is pronounce way diferent than it looks - San Gwaur. So it wasn't our fault. We were much more careful today. We also realized there is an electric sign board that lists the next stop. I saw it the day before, but got confused when it kept saying Naschter Haltz and I never once saw a town called Naschter Haltz once, let alone about 12 times. Finally someone told us Naschter Haltz meant Next Stop. Finally, I am starting to really understand this train stuff. Actually, Germany does a great job making it easy. I mean if a traveler who doesn't speak German, doesn't ever ride public transportation can buy a ticket for the right train and actually get on the right train without killing herself or other people killing her, it must be pretty easy!
