Well, well, well. I made it to the hotel with everything I intended to bring. My suitcase, my briefcase, my purse and me! My recent experience has reminded me to be thankful for everything arriving at the same time!

I usuall don't stay and Hilton Hotels because they are too expensive. However, because of the hurricane this was the only room I could find. I guess other people (what an Einstien statement) I mean evacuees, are using a lot of the rooms. This hotel is about 15 miles from the client. There are several hotels in Pearland but none of them had room for me. I feel lucky to get this one.

I get to my room and have a nice surprise. Hilton's have this neat thing called the heavenly bed. It had a down mattress cover, a down comforter and big fluffy pillows. It was just great. The only problem was there was only one light working in the room. I turned on the TV and it didn't work. I tried to call down to the front desk to report the problems and and the phone didn't work either.

So, I left my stuff in the room (remember it all arrived with me this time) and went back down to the lobby. I explained the problem and was assigned a new room. I was given a key and I went back up in the elevator to move to my new room. Fortunately it was right next door. I went into my old room, gathered my things and then went to the new room and tried to open the door. The key didn't work.

I put everything back in the dark room and went back downstairs to the lobby. I explained I needed a new key and was promptly issued one. I went back to the elevator and up to my room. I first tried the key in the new room and it worked. I then went back to the old room and got my stuff. I went to the new room and realized I left my key in the new room when I made sure it worked. Now it was in the new room and I was outside the new room.

I went back to the old room and dropped off my stuff AGAIN!!! I WENT BACK DOWN THE ELEVATOR TO THE LOBBY. I GOT ANOTHER KEY AND WENT BACK TO THE ELEVATOR AND BACK TO MY NEW ROOM. The key worked. I picked up the other key and had both of them clutched tightly in my little hand - apparently a size designed to match my little brain at this point!!! I went to my old room and got my stuff AGAIN. I went to my new room, with BOTH keys and was able to get me and my stuff into the new room. SUCCESS!!!!

I had to take the key for the old room back. So, I went back to the elevator, back down to the lobby and turned in the key. I then went back to the elevator and up to my new room - with keys in hand and entered my room, shut to door and vowed not to leave it again until the next morning!

I had to go up and down 5 times! I think I met every person who was staying in the hotel while in the elevator. Does this stuff happen to anyone else????
