Wednesday...what happened today?

Now I have been here three days and the employees in my class have adopted me. At lunch they took me on a sightseeing trip of the town. This place has wonderful historic old houses in a couple of districts that are restoring and saving the past. The houses are painted in historic colors and they are beautiful big places with large porches and columns in the front and gabled windows.

We then went to Swan Lake Iris Park. This is a beautiful park maintained by the town of Sumter. This is the only place in the world that has all 6 species of swans in residence. They also have some geese who decided this is a pretty good place to live. They are all over the place in the park. They are also very used to getting fed by visitors and are not shy about begging for food. We walked around and enjoyed the scenery and finally headed back to class. The group was worried about being late, but once I explained they had the teacher with them, no one would be late!

In spite of our little tour, we have now completed our payroll code set up, ahead of schedule. This is a great group and a lot of fun.

My excitement this evening was browsing a dollar store. I guess everything can't be on the top of the interesting things to do list!
