After finishing our stay at Parikrma School in Bangalore, we flew from Bangalore to Goa.  We started out by staying in a hotel right on the beach, for Rs.250 (~$6) a night for a very basic room.  Turns out, we caused something of an argument in the internet cafe, and Goa turned real sketchy real quick.  So we decided to stay somewhere safer.  This ended up being the Intercontinental Resort in Goa, which had a great deal as it was monsoon season.  This place was freaking amaaaaazing.  We went from floor mattresses/cold showers/cockroach city to REAL mattresses/hot showers/in-pool bar/terrycloth bathrobes/pedicures/etc etc. 

This place had its own private beach. They were also filming a Bollywood movie AND there was an Indian wedding going on.  Unfortunately we couldn't swim in the ocean as it's monsoon season, but it was still wonderful to be by the ocean, sipping diet coke and Old Monk rum

and an addendum:  Old Monk rum is the best thing ever...in fact, when we had someone break into our apartment in Bangalore, this was the only thing they stole
