Well, it all started when we came to Lo de Marcos to work on the evolution of La Casa in May. After being here for just a few weeks, the magic began to take hold. Ideas for next year and ways to further integrate into the community started to take form. Beautification of La Casa became a theme as we started to reorganize and weave our way through the resources at La Casa.
The idea of a Mural has been somthing I have been dreaming of for quite some time.....and it began to come to the forefront just last week. On Thursday, Dave, Dulce and I went off to ask the help of our friends in Lo de Marcos.....how do you make a mural? Will you help us paint La Casa so we will have a clean slate to begin our project? We were blessed by the unflinching willingness of 13 friends to join us for a painting party on Sunday morning. We promised only 4 hours of work to be followed by a lunch and swim party at El Ron's afterwards. That is the kind of support that lifts a dream up and allows it to sail. We met with some of our artist friends here in Lo de Marcos who gave us advice on how to begin to create a mural.
And that is what we did.....

Hello to my friends in Lo de Marcos
Thanks for sending me the e-mail with all the great pictures of the mural at La Casa de Los Ninos. It reminds me of all my great friends there that I miss so much! Always a community project going on, that's one of the reasons I love 'Lo' so much - it is truly one of the most special places on earth. --Karen
