From Phnom Penh we took a bus to Sihanoukville, a beach/port town named after King Sihanouk.  Our $6/night room was relatively crappy, but it did have cable TV so we can't complain too loudly about the value.

There are a few island off the coast, but we didn't end up doing a whole lot other than eating some excellent seafood BBQs, gambling at the numerous casinos, and hitting up the 25 cent beers at happy hour (happy hours, rather, which pretty much lasted all day and night).

The first night we had some amazing grilled barracuda and enjoyed our drinks for a few blissful minutes on the beach.  And then the beggars and hawkers arrived.  It pretty much killed the atmosphere, but no complaints about the food.

Our leftover scraps of food (which were minimal) were quickly polished off by a man and two young children.  They knelt down in the sand and just ate right off our table.  It was sad to see, but it's certainly better than having the food end up in the garbage.

We ate at "Happy Herbs Pizza" the next night.  Just ask for your pizza "Happy" and you get a free topping of a local herb.  There is a great little cinema named Top Cat where we watched The Big Lebowski and Slumdog Millionaire.  A perfect venue after a happy pizza, I imagine.

One of the days we rented a motorbike and drove to Otres Beach (only about 7km away but much fewer people).  We ate some tasty food at a Mexican restaurant and I splurged for a few margis.  The restaurant is right on the beach and had a very relaxed ambiance.
