We chose to come here because I thought it sounded like a chill town. While it is definitely a chill town, maybe too chill at night because there is really nothing to do here. It is described in our guidebook as an "elegant riverside town", this may have been true 200 years ago.
One day we hired a motorcycle to take us to a rice paper factory, some small temple, and the bamboo train. The 3 of us cruised around on one little bike 10km away to a very small, but efficient rice paper factory. The ladies were hard at work and barely noticed us walking around the hut taking pictures.
Next we headed another 5km away to Wat Ek Phnom , a small 11th century temple. After Angkok Wat it we were not that interested in paying an admission fee for this and just left
We started to drive to the Bamboo train, which is just a bamboo platform that rides along the regular tracks, and has to quickly be removed anytime there is a real oncoming train, but the rain picked up again. I didn't feel totally comfortable riding 3 on a bike without helmets in a rain storm so we took cover inside a wedding tent! I am not totally sure how they felt about us being there, you could tell the groom was way more concerned about the rain storm. After it blew over we headed straight back to town.

. While driving back we noticed some drizzle, and then some rain. We pulled over and took shelter at a small roadside shop. When we arrived the woman at the shop was eating a can of condensed milk for a treat. Then our driver bought something from her, which turned out to be a cooked mouse! He ate one, and then we bought another one so we could take a pic of him eating it! He just ate the whole thing. She also sold cooked frogs.
