After my parents left we were pretty exhausted and feeling sick hit me hard. Chris was still feeling pretty bad. We can't even imagine how my parents must have felt when they got home!
After laying in bed for most of the day I was able to rally enough to take a moto tuk to Angkor. We had a 3 day pass and thought it would be silly to waste the last day. That afternoon we checked out Preah Khan a huge, crumbling complex. It is full of hallways and rooms and courtyards of rocks. They keep the stones within the complex because they came off of the building at one time but now they do not know where they belong. We also sat at Preah Neak Pean which is basically large square pools in the ground, except it has been ages since they have been filled with water. Lastly we saw Ta Som . It is another fairly big complex in a ruinous state. But I think it is sort of interesting to see the ruins in this way, not completely restored.
We spent 2 more days in Siem Reap just trying to rest and get better. The hostel we stayed had a small pool, which was great to hang out in on the hot days. We had to get back into the budget travel mood after all those nice hotels! My parents really treated us well.
