We arrived in Kota because that is where the train station is, but there is no reason to go here. We ended up staying here and taking the bus to Bundi . It is very easy to get to/from Bundi from Kota . Buses leave every 30 mins basically all day/night. We did this because we had train tickets to Jaipur leaving from Kota .
But after going to Bundi and really liking it, we decided to cancel our train tickets from Kota and stay another night in Bundi . Bundi is a small town that is reasonably chill. But we figured much more chill than Jaipur was going to be. Truthfully were a little afraid of Jaipur.
Bundi is in a valley with old forts and palaces surrounding it. Most of the hotels in Bundi have rooftops, but some of them do not serve food on the roof because monkeys are a big problem
The only site we saw here was Bundi Palace. There is a small section that is covered with artwork and an unsolicited old man talks about the artwork. We finally had to tell him to stop talking because after five minutes we did not understand a single word, in fact we could not even tell what language he was speaking! He asked for money, and we reluctantly gave him some. But good thing we did! He was our monkey saviour! But the time we left the art room there were a hundred monkeys chillin in the courtyard. He used a big stick to shoo them away and help us walk though.
Bundi could be so much better than it is, it is such a pretty place. For such a small town the amount of pollution, noise, and traffic is unbelievable. It is sad really. One moto would be driving down the street blowing his horn the entire time. Multiply this by every vehicle that passes.
