So we are back in Salta and the reason we are here is because they are one of the few places that has a bus to Chile.
It is nice to be back up north, where we finally feel somewhat warm again. This is our second time in this city, and we have been able to do some things we missed last time. We took the teleferico (gondola) to a viewpoint over the city and walked to different parts of the city. We found a huge wine store with great prices and selection. Somehow we managed to carry 2 bottles of champagne and 2 bottles of wine back to Lima to toast the Murphys arrival.
The buses to San Pedro, Chile only left 2 days per week. The bus company told us that the bus might be canceled due to protests against high fuel prices. We were pretty nervous - we needed to get all the way back to Lima in the next week to meet the Murphys, so we didn't have much time to waste. Luckily the bus left as planned and we got to San Pedro without any problems.
