So after 3 more days of chilling out in Arequipa and visiting our favorite supermarket for more wine and cheese, we decided to go to Puno.  Puno is the city on the Peru side of Lake Titicaca (its hard not to smile while saying that!).  Its an alright town, but at 11,500 ft we were definitely feeling the altitude.  We could barely make it up the 3 flights of stairs to our room and didnīt have any appetite..  Also, unfortunately, somewhere between Arequipa and Puno my nice sunglasses were lost.  Why did I bring my nice sunglasses traveling in the first place??

We decided to take a boat to visit the Uros Floating Islands.  The Uros people are also Pre-Inca people and the islands have existed "before the sun".  It was cool to see how they live on and make these islands, but it was all a bit touristy.

Puno was also FREEZING!  We actually had to buy alpaca sweaters from some local women to keep warm.  Now we are dorks with matching sweaters except mine has a design of alpacas in a row on the bottom.  I donīt think I will be wearing that one around NY!
