Where I stayed
This day involved lots of excitement: sleeping in, a pancake breakfast, writing cards, grilled cheese lunch, pool time, chicken casserole dinner, and scrap booking. I will highlight a few key times of the day for you.
Let me first talk with you about this card writing I did and the situations it caused. Last night, as I was getting in to bed, I remembered that I needed to send thank you cards for my interview. So I quickly wrote myself a note and wrote down the names I could remember from the interview. So, today I got all my cards ready and went to look online for the spellings of the names. For most of the people it was easy but for a few I needed to check if I had the right people. So I would copy their name into facebook and see if they looked familiar. One I was fairly certain was right because she was one of the very few girls that works for IT development. So that one went off without a hitch. But there was one developer whose name I could not remember. I can see his face in my mind but I have no clue what his name was. Plus, there are like 20 developers and I searched for all of them on face book and I could not find the person from the interview. The problem is compacted because this particular developer did not go to Liberty so he would not come up first in a search anyways. Also, computer people can act in very interesting ways when it comes to social networking. Some do not want to be found at all and so they stay far away from facebook or similar sites. Others just put up odd pictures for their profile to match their strange interests. I don’t know if this guy fits into either of those categories. Needless to say, I did not finish a card for him. I did write it but left the name blank. My plan is to call tomorrow and fill in the name and then I will mail the cards on my way out of town.
The pool was also fun today. It was like 93 degrees so it was a perfect day to be there. I enjoyed a nice chat with my mommy at first but then I got far too hot to not be in the water. So I stood there in the pool with Barb, Lindsey, Tammy, and later Allison and we just chatted and swam around a little. Once I was fully pruned, I got out to warm up a bit. This is when I noticed that my legs did not look exactly normal. Yes, they have started to peel. I think that as I was chatting with mom, I got re-sun burnt. My legs that had just healed from the last burn were not ready for being reintroduced to the sun just yet. I did wear sun screen but it was not enough. I did moisturize as soon as I got back but it was not enough. The peeling continues. It is very sad, but hopefully a bit of aloe tonight will take care of this problem. Other than that, the pool was very enjoyable. It was a perfect day for a swim.
After swimming, me and Lindsey chatted at Barb bought a few last minute things for dinner. I have decided that I am taking her to P.F. Changs if we can find one close enough because she loves Chinese food. But we can’t tell her dad because he would want to come with us. We also realized that both our middle names are Nicole and we love pumpkin pie. Lindsey loves to read my blog so I wanted to make sure there was lots of stuff about her in it.
Now scrap booking. It is going very well. Barb is making good progress and Lindsey is enjoying the new Cricket. I have been doing pretty good but stopped right now due to lack of inspiration. I was working on pages of pictures from Halloween and I felt that the pictures showed the creativity of Andrew and me (we went as an Eskimo and a Penguin) so my pages needed to be just as creative. Since I didn’t have any creative juices I decided I should break until I felt more creative. I do have lots of stickers to put on the pages, so maybe that will help.
Later tonight we may watch High School Musical or some movie about someone at Christmastime which is supposed to be very funny. Also, I am going to eat my first Three Musketeers bar. I told Lindsey I had never had one and she insisted we had to buy some and eat them tonight. So that is bound to be very exciting. I am told that the center is marshmallow fluff so it sounds delicious.
So, today was a very good relaxing day. Tomorrow, Andrew is driving me to his house and we are going to take our time and make lots of stops along the way. It should be a very fun day. Now, back to “scrapping”. (Note to fellow scrap bookers: you should watch the movie “New in Town” it is very funny and makes fun of “Scrappers”.)
