Our last morning on Nellie (our truck) started with a 6am leaving the campground..... Not surprisingly we managed to sleep most of the morning! At about 11ish we pulled up in a service station to the sight of another Absolute truck. 7 of us got off Nellie and onto our new transport, and after more goodbyes we were off in a different direction to the others.
We basically had 2 drive days to get to JoBurg, on the first we made it just over the border into SA and then the second day was the rest of the way through to JoBurg. We stayed at a hostel (our camping days are over!!), and went out for dinner with everyone that night.
The next morning we did a tour of the Soweto area of JoBurg. It was a particularly interesting tour, my highlight was possible the rant from the driver when I asked a question - the important part of the rant being how much he likes asian toursits as they don't ask any questions! Seriously though, it is a fascinating piece of history along with some interesting ways of dealing with the on-going problems. I thought that it was going to be a lot worse than what we actually saw.
