From Luanga, we passed through Lusaka. Due to our brilliant timing we managed to be caught up in the funeral procession for the recently deceased Zambian President. For those of you that don't know, the much loved Zambian President passed away in France last week. Before they bury him, his body is doing a tour of the country to give people a chance to pay their last respects. The funeral procession we saw was surreal. The roads were lined with people wearing T-Shirts with his photo on, waving the national flag and cheering. I am not sure that too many Presidents/ Prime Ministers would get this kind of send off!
While in Lusaka we stopped at a shopping centre that had an Irish Pub. Lunch today was one of the best in a while!
From here we headed to our campsite
The next day we finally made it to the houseboats. Despite all of our nerves we did all get on. The boat is brilliant. We have rooms, with doors, and beds, and en-suites. I say en-suites, but in reality it was a cold shower. For the next 3 nights we did not much of anything. There was loads of sun so all the sun worshipers didn't leave the roof. The rest of us sat down where there was some shade. We had a punch night which created a load of drunken fun, and a quiz night which created a load of controversy! Other than that, it was a lot of nothing. There are loads of crocodiles in the lake so we were only allowed to swim at some points, generally in the middle of the lake. We were really lucky that we got a double room, which was situated in the bow. We could sit on our bed and watch out the front of the boat as we were moving. A little disconcerting! Bruce got up before sunrise to go fishing one morning. They didn't catch anything (except a few rocks!)
This was a much needed break from the tents, and was a good chance to chill out for a bit.

Our Houseboat!
. While cooking dinner tonight we had some Zebras wander in to have a look around. Again, very surreal! The Liverpool v Middlesborough Football game was on in the bar in the afternoon, and on another TV they had the Aus v SA rugby on. Bruce (along with most of the other boys) didn't leave the bar all afternoon! The next day we finally made it to the houseboats. Despite all of our nerves we did all get on. The boat is brilliant.
