Blarney, Ireland

August 4

Day 15: Took a train to Cork, a very pretty and lively city in southern Ireland. Wandered around the city before taking a bus to Blarney. Started a long trek up a hill to our campsite, but a local man offered us a ride! We must have looked pathetic. In the middle of the night Kyle proclaimed, "Help! Help!" as he was sleeping. I shook him awake with some unknown fear..."What is it?" Then he said that he didn't know where he was. But in reality....did we?

Day 16: Walked to the entrance of Blarney Castle with hopes to kiss the stone. But it was sadly a tourist trap, the entrance looking similar to an amusement park's. Everyone leaving said it was just a long line to get to the Blarney Stone. Took a bus to Kinsdale and then tried to walk to our campsite in Ballnspittle. Road became too windy and traffic was pretty dodgy. Tried hitch-hiking, but that didn't work. Then called a taxi from a roadside house. Turned out to be very nice camping and a short walk to the beach.
