The last place I saw a white person was in the Delhi domestic airport. Today I saw 12. Unfortunately we will continue to see them all the way through the Hornbill Festival. We call them "the  Germans". They are, duh, from Germany-retired or close to and several have taken a liking to me so each day I hear their opinions on politics, banks and the surroundings here. They all get hammered at dinner and one man is an opera singer and he takes requests and will belt them out for the world to hear. It is actually nice bumping into them, something constant and familiar.
                LET'S DANCE
Terry and I went to an Apatani Village tonight and participated in a ceremonial dance. It was wonderful, really wonderful. They were lovely little women, mothers having anywhere from 3-9 children. We had tea after the dance and I showed them pix of Ruby and Mimi, they smiled and thought Ruby looked just like me..... They marveled at my size, the size of my hands, arms and breasts - they thought I may be nursing! They asked me what I grow (to eat) and if I weave my clothes - then Terry, ding dong, asked how many women go to work outside the village, nurses, secretaries in town, etc. I told Borro not to bother to translate and looked at her like - are you dense? these women don't have cars, they don't wear shoes and have huge pieces of wood in their nose...oy.  I loved spending the evening with these women, again, really wonderful.
