Ingo the dingo had to go back to Austria so I'm setting myself a really really easy hitch hiking target as it's not been going so well lately. Belgrade to Timisoara and then a train from Timisoara to Cluj-Napoca, The train leaves Timisoara at 22:00, so I have an entire day to hitch hike 160km ...easy! ...right?!?
Well the hangover didn't help in the slightest, just more proof I do not have the stomach for Vodka any more, (although I have to learn if I'm going to Poland!), managed to hitch a ride in a truck after about an hour and a half of waiting, and the trucker was going half way to Timisoara so I still had plenty of time, except things never go to plan when I'm hitching! Just 10 kilometres down the road and the truck tire blows out completely, sounded like a bomb exploding but luckily the driver was really good driver and we didn't really loose control... or maybe it just happens a lot so he has a lot of practice, either way we survive.. Now comes the fun part of changing a truck tire, you think you get dirty when you change a car tire, you have no idea how dirty all the truck equipment is. Anyway we came across a few problems trying to get the spare tire out as the trucker didn't have the right size wrench and I couldn't just leave him, so I stayed to help, which took a freaking long time. Anyway long story short we got it changed in the end, we got lost a few times and I ended up getting to Vrsac (On the border of serbia, roughly halfway to Timisoara) at 7, however with hitch hiking in the dark and Romania being 1 hour ahead there was no chance of me catch that train, so looks like I'm wasting another day travelling tomorrow, I'm not angry because I get to visit Vrsac anyway and it's all part of the journey but at the moment I really don't have time to waste. com'on I need to start getting some good luck so I can get around all these countries...
