We've got to be at the train station by 7:15 this morning. It's a 6 hour scenic ride on the train, heading back the way we came. Most of my photos are of scenery. The wide open rives and waterways become narrower as the pass thru tight valleys. The mountains are lush green and sometimes have knobby crowns. You have to look quickly and closely for farms and homes hidden in these mountains. There is animal life out there, but it's hard to capture it.

We are going to pass the world's steepest corn fields, cross bridges and see more waterfalls.  During the rainy season, it's all about the "greens." We'll pass slowly thru some small villages/towns. Many folks will wave to us. We wave back. The scenery keeps you attention, otherwise you would be anxious to get to our jump off place - the Posada Barrancas. We are going to be staying on the rim. This should be the scenic highlite of the trip. And we get to do a little hiking which makes it all the better.

Ok, all this time on the train, and how many meals on the train, but what is the cost of the food? Figure $12 per meal plus a 10% tip per person. It's a Mexican sort of American mix. Even the kids will be happy! If you want to go cheap, bring on some power bars. But the best experience is sitting in a comfortable and modern dining car in a booth beside the over-large windows and watching a once in a lifetime view pass by.  This is just part of what the train is all about. There's also a "bar car"  with those same big windows. And you can almost bet you'll be addicted to those small viewing platforms. Forget about a good hair day. It just doesn't happen out there. You're also going to feel a little gritty with the dirt blowing occasionaly at you.  But the views are worth it.
