We had planned to stay in Swaziland for longer but we hadn't counted on there being a week long holiday in South Africa. We were really lucky and managed to get a cancelled booking at a couple of the rest camps in Kruger but it meant that we had to skip through Swazi quickly.
We decided to take a risk and enter Swaziland via a border crossing which we had no information about. After missing the turnoff we missed the crossing by 20min and had to drive another two hours further north in the dark to get to the next one but even that didn' dampen our spirits. As soon as we entered Swaziland we loved it - the roads were better, the people friendlier, the food better - everything was just so much more relaxed.
We spent the day shopping and visiting a Swazi cultural village which someone had recommended because of it's authenticity. It was brilliant - we watched their traditional dances and learned about the different customs and living arrangements. We left Swaziland feeling really disappointed that we didn't have longer there but excited about getting to Kruger.
