Cintsa is a lovely small coastal town with a great backpackers which overlooks both a lagoon and the beach. We shared a 2 bedroom bungalow with a fun South African couple, Tom and Catherine, who were quick to win our affections by offering us free beer and champagne almost as soon as we had introduced ourselves.

Buccaneers labels itself a backpackers 'resort' - there were free activities (volleyball, table tennis, canoeing, boogey boarding), a daily group activity with free wine for those that participated, a pool bar, massage, theme nights etc. We would have stayed for longer but on our second day a cold front hit that was forecast to last several days. To say that we were dissappointed would be an understatement - our dreams of becoming surfing stars pooled in gigantic puddles around our feet. We were still keen to go to Coffee Bay but when we reached the turnoff the rain was almost torrential so we decided to cut our losses and make our way to the bustling city of Durban.
