We stopped in Jeffrey's Bay so that I could get a post card and send it to my brother but on arriving we soon discovered that it was a lovely little beach town based largely around surfing. They hold the Billobong Surfing Pro there every year and there's even a beach called SuperTubes. Feeling brave we thought that we would go for a swim - but the water was like ice and I chickened out. Andrew went in and hasn't been the same since.

We walked down to SuperTubes and watched the surfers. It was quite spectacular - what a feeling it must be to ride a wave - and it was at that moment that we added to the millions of other things we are constantly inspired to do, learning to surf. As soon as we got back to the hostel we looked up the best places to do this and decided that  Coffee Bay was the place for us. We were eager to get there so we left early the next day for our next destination Cintsa.
