After a long five hour delay we finally got to our intended destination, Stellenbosch, only to realise that I had left our passports at the hostel in Cape Town....arghhhhhhh! What a mistaka to maka.

To ease our sorrows we did what all normal people do - we went and ate a shed load of food. It seemed that a restaurant called Spurs had been following us around the country and so on an impulse Andrew went in and sat down and I followed with a frown. But what followed was a finer more sophisticated version of Sizzler...that once great but now defunct late 80's Australian eatery. We did get some odd looks when leaving the one plate salad buffet with our plates piled so high that you couldn't see our heads and bread stuffed in our pockets - but really, who the hell ever heard of a ONE plate salad buffet???

The next day we were up and at them early Ernie Els Winery
Ernie Els Winery
. By 2pm we had our passports, had eaten lunch and were on our way to the first winery, Uva Mira. Then the 2nd - Ernie Els Winery, the 3rd - Bilton, the 4th - Annandale, the 5th - we can't remember, the 6th - they wouldn't serve us.......it was a very happy day. But the real drinking didn't start until later, after dinner when the girls working at the hostel beat us at 8-ball. House Rule No. 1: Losers have to buy a round of shots of winners choice. Lucky for us the girls were running the bar and decided that all drinks were on the house! Yeehaaa! 6 shots and several ciders/beers later and the party was well and truly under way. Cheesy 80's music was blasted out the speakers (obviously Andrew was the DJ), lay backs on the bar, dancing on the tables - all this and we were in bed by 11.30pm.
